Ambassador Theodore Kattouf became president and CEO of AMIDEAST in September 2003 after a distinguished 30-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service. Before joining AMIDEAST, he served as U.S. Ambassador to Syria and The United Arab Emirates. He also served in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen, Kuwait and Washington, DC. Throughout his Foreign Service career, Ambassador Kattouf has been a staunch supporter of educational exchange and the benefits it can bring to both the home and host countries.

The present crisis in Israel/Palestine and the resulting tragedy for all concerned makes the intervention of people of goodwill even more compelling.
